# Long Essay-

Please write about a time when your courage failed you. What happened? If you could go back in time and change it, what would you do differently (if anything)?
(200-400 words)

I know that 2020 was one of the worst years for everyone; many people lost their lives and families in the pandemic. However, thanks to God, I cannot lose my loved ones.

In December of 2020, I was affected by the Covid-19 virus. I assumed I was suffering from a usual sinus infection. In a week, I lost my sense of smell and taste. That all looked like Covid-19 infection. My family thought it was a regular cold, but I distanced myself from them and quarantined myself in a single room.

After 2-3 days, I had a fever and intense chills, and an uncomfortable pressure in my chest. My family members dared to see my condition and took me to the nearby hospital for a covid test. The test report was positive. The doctor advised my household to get a covid test, but their report was negative.

At that time, I was terrified to see the condition of Italy, America, and India, but seeing my situation, I started getting scared too. I believed that I couldn't live anymore. But the doctor explained to me, "It is a disease like other diseases which can be cured by taking medicine, but you have to be patient."

I was kept in the hospital for two weeks and fed healthy food by nurses. After two weeks, I was allowed to return home. When I got home, I noticed that my neighbors were staring at me through their windows, like a terrorist. It was amusing to watch their expressions at that time.
After two-three weeks, I was completely cured of coronavirus. Since then, I have gained even more respect for the doctors.

If I could travel back in time, I wouldn't go outside of my house to buy fruits and veggies during the covid pandemic. If I didn't go out of my house, I wouldn't be infected by the virus and wouldn't spend two weeks in the hospital.

That was the most painful movement of my life. I Hope this pandemic ends very soon.

# 200 words-

We want to learn more about your background, beliefs, values, and/or the important people in your life. Please tell us about something that has influenced you and articulate how it has shaped you. (200 words)

I am incredibly blessed to have a family who loves and cares for me, particularly my mom. She always keeps an eye on me and gives me advice on achieving my objectives and competing for them.
Since I was a kid, I've loved playing cricket. Once coaches in our area were choosing kids to create a team for district-level championship matches, and I was one of them. I wasn't a professional athlete, and I didn't even practice on a daily basis. As a result, I was unable to perform sufficiently on game day, and I was dismissed from the team. I cried a lot on that day.

When I got home, my mom told me not to be discouraged by my failures. She said, "You didn't work hard so that you couldn't get selected. Remember that there is no such thing as a lucky charm that will make you successful; instead, your commitment and hard work will get you anywhere in your life."
Unfortunately, I lost on that day, but I learned the most important lesson of my life: "You have to be committed towards your goal."
